Shellfish Graders and

Quahog (Hard Clam) Grader and Counter

This is a programmable quahog grader and counter. The four counter rotating stainless steel pipes sort the shellfish by size. The largest ride the wider spaced top two pipes into the far left PVC chutes to a container. Passing into the container they are counted by an electric eye and guided into either the right or left chute by a deflector. When the count matches the programmed requirements the deflector is switched via a solenoid to the opposite container. The operator removes the filled container with the counted and graded shellfish and replaces it with an empty. The second set of pipes directly under the first pair and spaced slightly closer than the top and repeats the process with the smaller sized shellfish that fell between the spacing of the first two pipes through the two right PVC chutes. The smallest sized will fall through the second rollers captured by a PVC chute into a container under the machine. You have the option to easily change the spacing of the rollers and can program the batch counts. The construction is aluminum, stainless steel and PVC. Ketcham's has it hooked up (one 110volt plug) and running at our shop.
