Providence or Cape Cod Bridges 30 min, Boston about an hour
From Providence:
From I-95 northbound take Exit 19. From southbound I-95 after entering the city watch for the I 195 exit towards Cape Cod, due to the construction of new ramps things have changed, so be careful of Mapquest or older GPS's . You will end up on I-195 eastbound, the Interstate spur that runs east to Cape Cod. Stay on I-195 about 30 miles and take Exit 14, "Penniman Street" in New Bedford. Our buildings abut that off ramp on the frontage road. You'll see our schoolhouse on the right as you come down the off-ramp. The ramp ends at a stop sign. Turn right. Go about 200 feet and take your first right. Go another 200 feet and take another right (You'll see a sign on this corner for Ketcham's entrance). You've just circled the block at the end of the exit and are facing the frontage road and off-ramp. Take a left on the frontage road, the entrance is about 150 feet up the hill on the left. Don't be confused by the ONE WAY signs pointing to the right when you get to the last turn. The signs are for the Interstate off-ramp only. Left turn on the frontage road is okay.
From Cape Cod:
Get on I-195 westbound follow it to New Bedford and take Exit 15 "Down Town". The off ramp will put you on a 6 lane connector into the city center. Keep to the extreme right as you will only be on the connector a few hundred yards. Take the first exit "Weld Street". The ramp ends at a stop sign turn right then your first left at the end of a large brick building onto Clark St. Go up the hill 4 blocks and you'll see the schoolhouse and a sign directing you to turn right on Reynolds St, for Ketcham's Entrance. Street ends in a T in one block, take a left on the frontage road next to the schoolhouse, the entrance is about 150 feet up the hill on the left. Don't be confused by the ONE WAY signs pointing to the right when you get to the last turn. The signs are for the Interstate off-ramp only (beyond the frontage road). Left turn on the frontage road is okay.
From Boston:
Get on Route 24 south west of the city off the 128/ I-93 beltway. Stay on 24 about 25 miles to Exit 12 for Route 140. Keep to the right coming down the ramp and it will put you onto 140 southbound. Stay on 140 about 20 miles into New Bedford and take Exit 2E for I-195 eastbound towards Cape Cod. You will only be on I-195 about a mile. Take Exit 14, "Penniman Street".
A word of caution on computer generated maps, older GPS's, or in city directions from locals
Myrtle Street was cut in half when the Interstate (I-195) was put in during the late 1960's so Myrtle exists on both sides of the highway. We abut the Interstate on the south (eastbound) side. If you happen to get onto Myrtle Street and the numbers are bigger than 111 (our address) you are on the right street but the wrong (north) side of the Interstate.
The I-95 to I-195 interchange in Providence has changed radically in 2009, watch for new signs and be cautious of older GPS units.
