The layout of the instructions have evolved over time as we have identified the specific problems our kit builders were having and adjusting the text and drawings to smooth things out.  The phone has pretty much stopped ringing a few days after we've shipped a kit pack, so we feel we're on the right track with you.

The biggest thing we think is that we have pre-cut each cut-out one time on all the parts as a guide for the kit builder to copy.  We have also installed one entry funnel in an end panel.  A picture may be worth a thousand words but seeing it in front of you is even better!
