A tough low cost solution to surface culture
Ketcham's has a containers in stock of new, yet well tested closed cell AQUA-FLOATS for your bags. Ketcham's AQUA-FLOATS have been custom formulated for the shellfish industry from a closed cell Polyethylene of a higher density than any competing float and the ONLY float with UV resistance in the mix, unlike the infamous "dissolving noodles". Ketcham's Aqua-Float's have been in use for years with excellent results.
Two sizes available, the first size is 22 inches by 4 inches diameter cylinder(top photo), and a 2" X 4" X 32" square. You can modify your AQUA-FLOAT to any custom length just by cutting it with any serrated bread knife. the cylinder AQUA-FLOATS are packed 50 to a carton, the 2X4's 84/ctn and for shipping we can get 300 plus floats on a skid. We can ship full skids to most of the New England area for about a hundred bucks and will have pickup points in Brooklyn and Philly for about the same cost. The floatation is just about the same as the traditional hollow plastic round tubes, however the AQUA-FLOAT gives you the flexability of a custom fit (see second photo) to your exact buoyancy needs and budget goals.

We have devised a new fastening method that will do away with the "cable ties" works just about as fast to attach the AQUA-FLOAT is stronger and should come in at a cost of a few pennies (maybe less) to attach and to get your bags floating.

Interior mounting keeps your bags wide open with the AQUA-FLOATS 4" dimension. This ends your hassle of "vertical floaters". Saves you the cost of lost floats and wasted time to look for them and then fixing the bag. Interior mounting is also politically smarter as there won't be stray floats littering the town's or trophy home's beaches. Real world results using the interior method find the animal capacity is about the same as external mounting since your bags physically supported open to the full 4 diameter of the AQUA-FLOAT providing great volume for grow-out.
